Our Motor Vehicle Clerks are agents of the state in tax collection for vehicle registration. While the Clerk & Recorder does not control the software employed by the state, I will continue to find ways to help our staff to assist you in your motor vehicle transactions. I will also make myself available to be involved in any upgrades or conversions the state pursues to improve their system.
Elections and Motor Vehicle law seem to be popular topics for legislative changes every year. Many times these changes cause costs to the process within the divisions and in turn costs to the tax payers. I have been and will remain a strong and steady voice during legislative sessions.
The Recording Division upgraded their system for recording documents. The efficiencies realized by this system have been substantial. This is another area of the Clerk & Recorder's office that will continue great work.
